Optimal chamber pressure
Chamber pressure alterations in RIBs during operation are frequently significant.

Based on experience RIBs are often operated at decreased chamber pressure (s. curve below).

By maneuvering at high speed, impacting with waves or by effects caused by load you will notice reduced driving properties. Severe collar damage caused by wave clash was observed on a RIB operating at high speed r with depressed chamber pressure.

Chamber inflation with traditional equipment during run is mostly difficult to handle and thus paid little attention to outside the harbor.
Hidden pressure drop sometimes appear when pressure releaf valves are activated by pressure blows caused by impacts (fender effect) by landing. When an external temperature drop occurs you want an efficient inflation system that rapidly and
effectively compensates for the decrease in air pressure. Rift-3 fulfills these requirements with high reliability. The pressure in a 10 m RIB can be equalized within 1 to 2 min.

In Rift-3 the combination of selected materials, like percussion reducer, pressure switch and HD-compressor have been tested intensively and optimized for highly reliable performance and adjusted to users defined pressure limits.
At stand-by the pressure is monitored without power consumption. The difference between threshold value for start and stop is set to 30 mb or less (example: 210 and 240 mb).
The System is permanently installed in RIBs with suitable storage space and connected
to the on-board battery. The installation is facilitated by the use of switchable transfer valves. Further Rift-products are available and in these, the tried and tested basic principle is
used.
